Story In UX
I came to UX design from the practical door. Having a web developer as a husband, I was introduced to tech a long time ago, but it happened just recently that with his new Canadian job he started asking my opinion or advice on a range of web design related topics. To help him, I began looking for information on the web. Very soon, I realized that the answers we were searching for were called UX design and that I want to do it professionally.
What I Bring To The Table
Ten years of experience in finance taught me to think critically, be practical, troubleshoot fast, instilled in me natural attention to detail, and made me deeply understand the goals and preferences of stakeholders.
My natural enthusiasm for psychology and human behavior grew into a hobby for writing fiction about both ordinary people and people with autism, cerebral palsy, those forced to spend their lives in a wheelchair. A hobby quickly grew into profitable professional writing. For more than five years, I have been managing my author’s accounts on large self publishing venues, communicating with the audience, promoting my books. Like no other, this experience enriched me with the knowledge of what people want, need and look for.
Also, I have experience in founding and managing a small business in retail, which gave me a lot of practical skills in strategy building, communication with consumers and understanding their needs.
Why Me
As a person with an extensive professional and life experience, I can see the problem from various angles and perspectives. I know how to conduct a dialogue in a user interview in a way that even the most closed person will help me find all problems and opportunities. I never perceive the words literally; I always make them pass through the prism of critical thinking.
